1.0 Installation Prerequisites

There are several hardware, software, and Operating System requirements that must be met to complete the itrezzoAgent Server installation successfully. Before continuing, make sure that you have your Windows Operating System and Exchange Server media and their respective license keys available.

1.1 Minimum Hardware Requirements

The following Virtual Machine platforms are also supported:

  • VMWare ESX 3.5, 4.0, 4.1
  • VMWare Server 1.0 and 2.0
  • Microsoft Hyper-V

Atleast two virtual CPU's are recommended.

1.3 Microsoft Exchange Server Dependencies

These requirements are specific to the version of Microsoft Exchange you are running.

Although it has been tested, we do not recommend installing itrezzoAgent on an Exchange Server.

If itrezzoAgent is installed on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server, coexistence is supported without any degradation of service of either application.

A standalone MAPI-CDO installation package is available from Microsoft Downloads.

1.4 Required Server-Side Permissions

The itrezzoAgent System Administrator account will require the following permissions to perform the tasks listed below:

Required Server-Side Permissions

Additional Information concerning Exchange 2003

It is important to assign the Send As permission for all user accounts in the User container of the Active Directory domain. This action will allow for permissions to be replicated from the top level of the root container in the domain down to all necessary containers.

Also, the administrator must be sure that the service account, which will be used by the itrezzoAgent server (this could be the BESAdmin account or an itrezzo specific account), is a local administrator of the computer which itrezzoAgent server is installed on.

1.5 Setting Service Account Permissions for Exchange 2007 & 2010

If you run the Windows PowerShell, you must first add the Exchange Management Snap-In:

[PS] Add-PSSnapin microsoft.exchange.management.powershell.e2010   [Microsoft Exchange Server 2010]

Assuming you are performing the following commands locally and "SVCitrezzo" account has been selected for itrezzoAgent services.

From the Exchange Server, run the Exchange Management Shell to perform the following actions:

[PS] Add-ExchangeAdministrator "SVCitrezzo" –role ViewOnlyAdmin   [Microsoft Exchange Server 2007]

[PS] Add-RoleGroupMember -Identity "View-Only Organization Management" -Member "SVCitrezzo"   [Microsoft Exchange Server 2010]

[PS] Get-MailboxServer | Add-ADPermission  -User "SVCitrezzo" -accessRights Extendedright -extendedRights Send-As, Receive-As, ms-exch-store-admin

1.5.1 Additional Requirements for Exchange 2010

Several additional steps must be taken to operation itrezzoAgent in an Exchange 2010 environment:

  • Ensure the itrezzoAgent Service Account mailbox is located on an Exchange 2010 server.

  • Ensure that the latest MAPI-CDO package is installed on the itrezzoAgent Server

  • The itrezzoAgent Server version 4.0 or higher is required.

If your Exchange server uses a separate CAS Array, you may need to create a registry parameter on the itrezzoAgent server. Contact itrezzo technical support for more details.

Additional Application Requirements

Install Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 System Manager or Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects. Both do not need to be installed by the administrator.

3.0 Installation Steps

After establishing that the server has met the installation requirements and software dependencies, and the designated account and mailbox have the proper permissions follow these steps to install itrezzoAgent Server .

  1. Login to the server which itrezzo will be installed on using the account which has been specified as the itrezzo service account.
  2. Prepare the machine for installation.
    • Verify that there is internet connectivity to this machine by browsing to any web site with Internet Explorer.
  3. Download .Net Framework 4.0 from Microsoft download and install it.
  4. Download and install MAPI-CDO if it is not installed yet.
  5. Install itrezzoAgent Enterprise Server.
    • If you do not have the installer, download the installer (.exe or msi package) using the information above in the download section
    • Double click on the itrezzoAgent installer file to begin the installation process.
    • Click Next when prompted to by the installer.
  6. Accept the License Agreement and choose Next.
  7. Specify the install directory or choose the default installation location and click Next.
  8. Choose the features you would like to install and click Next. Specific details and configuration for these services are contained in the full Installation Manual. If IIS is not present, the Self-Service Update and MAME will not appear as available choices on this menu.
  9. The itrezzoAgent installer will prompt you to specify a user account to be used by the itrezzoAgent service. Please enter the logon credentials of the itrezzoAgent Administrator account you created for itrezzo usage. Be careful to enter the credentials correctly here because if they are incorrect, the application will fail to start as a service. Click Next.
  10. Once the software installation is complete, make sure the checkbox next to Configure itrezzoAgent now is checked and click Finish.
  11. When the Configuration Wizard starts, you will see the Exchange Mailbox information linked to the Administrator account you were prompted for during the installation (above). If the account alias and exchange server name are not there or not underlined, click the select button to choose the correct account from the Global Address List. In CAS field, type in the hostname of Exchange Client Access Server(CAS) server. Once the mailbox has been recognized and you have entered CAS, click Next.
  12. On the Primary Contact screen, please fill out all of the requested information of the individual who will be responsible for communicating with itrezzo for technical support. This account will also initially receive the licenses sent by itrezzo. Click Next to continue.
  13. When prompted to request an Authorization code, click the Get button. Once a license code has been obtained from the itrezzo servers click Next.
  14. Click the checkbox next to Start the itrezzoAgent service now box to initialize the itrezzoAgent server. If you would like to request trial licenses for additional itrezzoAgent services, click the checkboxes next to their names as well. When you click Finish, the service will start up, and email will be sent to itrezzo support with the request for trial licenses (if applicable).
