Summary

The BlackBerry® Enterprise Server (BES) is a software platform that enables wireless handhelds to securely communicate with E-Mail and application servers behind a customers firewall. First deployed in 1999, there are over 50,000 (need to get RIM current estimates) BES deployments worldwide. Each BES connects to the BlackBerry SRP Infrastructure via the Internet. These servers connect with approximately 8.5 million1 BlackBerry® Smartphone users.
